The listing, Small Poison Box Charm has ended.

This is an awesome piece. Not sure of age or metal content but it is definitely cool! Top has a little wobble but can be fixed fairly easy. This would look great on a necklace. Does not have any other color metal showing I do know that much! Gin offers welcome. If you have any other questions just ask.

I really don't see how that has anything to do with me auctioning it off but I purchased it from a person who deals in antique and vintage jewelry.

It is a copy of a Victorian prayer box. All of the lids are wobbly. Markc is right in that you are supposed to write your prayer on a small piece of paper, fold it up and put it in the box on either a chain or cord around your neck. I have several.....

It is called a pray box. You put it on a chain and place on a little piece of paper and put your pray on it and put it in the box.

Yes this is a prayer bead. You write your prayer on a small piece of paper. Fold it up and stuff it inside. Then you wear it around your neck or on a bracelet. I have met some people and asked them how they wrote so small. They laughed and said they wrote like: protection, or wealth, or peace of mind, or health. It's not like these people are writing the bible to put in there. Just a few words.
