This Auction is for the Dog Lovers in Listia Land ~~

I believe this Gray Enamel Pin, signed Gerry's, to be a "Foo" Dog, or of the Pekingese breed.
They were a favorite during several Chinese Dynasties & were the Lap Dogs of Emperors & Concubines, alike.
It is said that these loyal & protective dogs had marble kennels lined with Silk cushions & were referred to as "Imperial Guardian Lions". They have played a long, & much loved part in Chinese History, that extends to the present day.

This Pooch is 1 1/8th inches x 7/8 inches. the enamel is in excellent condition & that little Face has 2, sparkling, Emerald Green, rhinestones as eyes ~~ they really add just a touch of Bling to get your attention.

I am unsure as to it's age, but I do think it's a Vintage piece.
