The listing, the best of Soul Coughing, "lust in phaze" has ended.
In 1992, Mike Doughty started a group with a style he called "deep slacker jazz," which involves half speaking, half singing poetry, pretty intense words at times, over a rhythmic background of samples and beats. He called the group "Soul Coughing."
The subtitle of this record, "lust in phaze," appears in a track called "soft serve," which doesn't actually appear in this compilation. My favorite tracks are 7, 12, and 15.
This CD is in good condition, and every track plays perfectly. I include the CD case and papers, however, one page was ripped out. I made a copy of the final liner notes, and took a photo of the missing portrait, which is the last of the five pics I put in this listing.
