What is it used for

It takes the place of the nasal aspirator (the bulb-looking thing you use to suction mucus out of your baby's tiny nostrils). You put the end of the blue tube against your baby's nostril and then you suck air through the tube (with your mouth on the red end) and the pressure you use pulls the mucus very effectively out of the nostril. The filter in the tube regulates the air flow and blocks any mucus from reaching you. This really helped us when our kids were tinier! I hope this explanation helps.

does the snot go in your mouth? is their a way tp sterilize it so the mom and baby dont pick up germs? since its used. Does it come with directions, all the parts? are any extra pieces or parts needed or missing to use it?

No, it can't get to your mouth because the filter blocks it from reaching you. We cleaned ours with soap and water after every use (otherwise the yucky stuff gets stuck in there and it's hard to get out). I haven't used this in years (and of course it was cleaned after the last use) but I can wipe it down with alcohol wipes before sending. I no longer have directions and yes all the parts needed are included (and shown in photo). I hope this helps.

I would bid but with out directions im not sure if Id know how to use or put it together..is it like the ones in the stores?

I ordered this online so I'm not sure what they offer in stores, sorry. It's pretty straight forward to use. You just put the blue end at your baby's nostril and suck through the red end. Clean when done & change the filter when you want. :-)
