The listing, Rare McDonalds World Opening of 5000th Store Commerorative Medallion With Paper has ended.
This is a Commemerorative Medallion celebrating the opening of McDonalds
5000th store.
The back of the medallion is plain, but the front reads, "McDONALDS WORLDS 5000TH 1978
OCTOBER19 JAPAN".
The paper that comes with it reads,
Nambutetsu
This medallion commemorating the opening of Mcdonalds 5,000th store is made from Nambutetsu,
a cast iron representative of Japans traditional crafts. Nambutetsu was first produced about
800 years ago in an area called Nambu, now known as Iwate Prefecture in the north of Honshu,
Japan's main island. Historical evidence shows it was a popular material out of which the people
fashioned sword guards and elaborate water vessels which even today enhance the beauty
of the ritual tea ceremony.
And at the bottom of the paper is the golden arches with Mcdonalds on it.
The medallion measures 3 1/4" accross and 3/8" thick.
Awesome and it's in great condition as you can see in the pictures. It is not green.
