The White House Historical Association wished to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the laying of the White House cornerstone (1792) with an educational videotape to serve both classrooms and general viewers.

Solution

The 33 minute video was only able to tap a fraction of the fascinating information about the White House. The Viewer's Guide was conceived to fill the gaps for general viewers.

Distribution

The tape was distributed at cost to schools throughout the nation and sold at the White House Visitor's Center and through the mail. The first edition of 30,000 sold out and was reprinted in 1994.
