Description
The listing, antique sterling turn of the last century old. broach pin has ended.
this pin/broach that i have for auction is sterling silver and very old indeed. it is hand made and the craftsmanship is very good. an antique dealer mentioned that it was made around circa 1900. this is the real deal not junk to be melted down as scrap. to the right collector it is quite unique and valuable.
free shipping and good luck to the right bidder. a gin will be considered do not wait till the last day to ask and thanks for looking.
I am a retired jeweler and I have seen this one before. Not yours but one of my customers had one, and it had originally had pearls in the wholes. And the mark Sterling is not the metal it is made of it is the name of the manufacturer well at least that is what the one I had to repair for she had lost one of the pearls. No sign of glue does not mean it did not have any it just meant the glue was very old so when the stones were removed or came out they just let it sit. That is my opinion of the one I repaired that was identical to yours! And it is around the early 1900s when it was made. A real collectors piece!
By the way...cherylmiles98 I don't see where he was rude at all with you. You asked him a question to GIN for a lower bid for you and of course he said factually to you. He was not at all being rude ok? He actually was kind enough to reply so many ignore us!
hello dove, it is sterling silver and yes there might have been pearls in it, but now i am leaving it as original and as the collectors piece it is..:)}
Hi wow that is awesome that it is sterling silver but I almost think the stamp means the manufacturer for usually they use SS or .625 for many many years. But then again I am not a professional dealer of antiques. And I retired from that industry several years ago...got tired of the long tedious hours!
i have an acid silver test kit and it is silver not the manufacturer sterling. i have seen the 925 and ss also sterling. the maker sterling uses if my memory serves me, 2 scrolls one on each side of the word sterling and that is their trademark. :)
Well I put new pearls in so I did not use any heat to where I would have used solder I just had to reglue them once I got it cleaned up. I do not remember what it said on the back either. Most of my memories are lost from the stroke I had in December.
