You aRe Welcome! As you discovered, it is a mechanical watch, but since it also has "23 JEWELS", that designates this as an "HIGH END WATCH". The jewels, which are traditionally natural rubies, are used as bearings and on the "high wear" parts. DEFINITELY A NICE WATCH, My Friend!!!

To get the Back Off, You would Need a Special Watch Case Back Tool. They are usually Two Pronged that Fit into the *Square Grooves* that U see on it.
It is Hard to Tell if it is a "Men's or Women's" Watch?>Appears to be a Women's though?

Thanks my friend! This is a man's dress watch....cannot tell the date of manufacture without liking at the serial number inside , but from what I know of these, 1970 was the last year for these particular ones which began (as I was told) in 1920, so this is at least 45 years.....just have not seen one with so many "sparklies" (which I believe to be diamond chips) on the face.

Bad news after trying to wind it< i can no longer adjust time after you pull knob out> seems like it may have broke once again i knoe very little about it and i guess thats what i get for playing with it> i will now leave it alone hopefully its still okay> i understand if the buyer does not want it after bidding> thanks mickey z honest is best policy!!

Have U Tried to "Wind" the Watch?
Feb 3rd, 2015 at 3:38:51 PM PST by
Original
Yes i have!! That seems to work fine when you wind the minute hand everything goes smoothly and the hour hand works accordingly!! You know i wish listia let you upload short videos say 20 seconds or less for such objects like this to prove what the seller is actually saying!!! Anyways thanks for asking and stopping by my auction!!:)

That is great!

One other question:

It is hard to tell by the photos. Can you describe the color and condition of the finish of the watch band? Was it gold and now the finish has worn off or is it in good shape and is gold, but just hard to tell in the photo?

Please read my comment i just posted. the band was gold toned but now rubbing off to a silver look.
