it's not magnetic and is stamped .925 but I'm not going to make a claim that it's sterling b/c I'm not 100% sure... So, I'll go with silver plated. Hope this helps! Thanks.

Generally speaking rings with stones set directly into the band (like this one) can only be resized up or down half a size
