Jump start your exercise routine with this gem.
Weight Watchers 123 Success Pedometer.

Pictures are of ACTUAL Pedometer.
See, in photo #1, it took me 362 steps from the time I picked up the pedometer and every other thing I wanted to list and when I took the picture. Thanks Listia for helping move my behind!!!

With this Pedometer, maybe you can be in a bikini by Spring Break or Summer.

This is THE BEST Pedometer I have ever used and I STILL think the majority of people do better using a simple Pedometer than all the new technological gizmos.

How do I know..... well, personal experience, my background in exercise physiology and years as a personal trainer, teaching PE and coaching.

PLEASE DO NOT BEGIN AN EXERCISE PLAN WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING YOUR DOCTOR. Thank You.

How do you start a walking program? Just Start. First day just try to keep it normal to get an idea of how far you go. Depending on your health, set a daily goal. Then add to it. I will add__________ more steps per day until I reach my goal of_________steps/day.

The common rule of thumb is still to aim for 10,000 steps a day. That is approximately 5 miles. I say approximately since everyone's stride length varies.

Keep an eye here as, if I can make the time, I will try to share WALKING PLAN TIDBITS.

Hugs Listian Family. Be Well.

Ways to increase your steps:

- Park farther away

- Use the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator

- Next time you are "Soccer Mom" walk during the gamw or practice.

- Use your internet and set a long term goal. Always wanted to see San Francisco? How far is that from your house? Set a goal to "walk there".... meaning walk the number of miles it would take to go there. START with small goals, and work toward bigger goals. ***Remember to reward yourself when you reach a goal.

- BUT IT IS WINTER... I DON'T WANT TO WALK NOW. No excuse. Did you know most malls are open to the public at least an hour before stores open? Be a Mall Walker. Can take kids in Strollers if you need to. Or bundle up in layers and walk outside. I found I quite enjoy the frigid temps and blowing snow. BUT if you have asthma, as I do, remember your inhaler and a mask or scarf ovee the mouth helps too.

- Walk during commercials

- Put on some music and dance with yourself, your furbies, your spouse, your kids.

- Try out a Wii Game or X-Box Kinect. Some of them are a blast.

- Did you know several cable providers have a free work out channel now? A personalized one where you pick your own workout and set goals and stats.

- Use technology.... U tube workouts. Find sites with workouts like Spark People. (I am Live~Love~Laugh on Spark AND am in no way affiliated with the company other than being a member and fan of their site).

Be well my friends!!

Where do you hook this to? Do you just put it in your pocket?

The best place is on pants waist or pocket or belt or even undies above your hip bone. I do my left as I am left handed. Some folks swear in a sock or shoe work, though I am not certain pf the validity of that.
