Jim, a) You may not realize this but this coin is made our of SILVER. that means the coin has value that can be exchanged anywhere in the world for it's value of it's metal it is made from. Unlike the coins found in your pocket now which are worth a fraction of it's face value. b) It is also a Proof. This coin was made with greater care than the ones you find in your pocket. These are made for collectors and have mirror like surfaces as you can see in the picture. If you would like a less expensive version you could possibly afford I would be happy to set up an auction for a circulated 1961 for half this starting price if you are willing to pay the $2.50 shipping. c) I consistently sell these in the range of the starting bid and have sold several for the GIN price. d) In every day life, adversarial statements normally don't help. They normally only serve to galvanize the opposition in their views. Do you think I would now entertain an offer from your to lower the GIN or starting bid after you have insulted me? e) This contains almost 20% of an ounce of PURE SILVER. If you compare this to the current price of actual sales of pure silver bars and rounds being sold on this venue I think you would find it is within that range. Sorry, ignorance is not a reason to insult.
