Description

The listing, CANON POWER SHOT A4000 IS DIGITAL CAMERA, NOT WORKING has ended.

I did not save receipt, it is about a year old. I have not used it for anything except to take pictures of my auction items and a few of the family dog. It always sits on my dresser. I was taking a picture the other day and I kept getting a lens error message. the lens/cover would not close completely and message says "lens error, restart". it has not been dropped or came into contact with anything that would harm the lens cover. I looked online and tried to follow some trouble shooting techniques but I am still getting the same message. I can't take pictures now and I am not very technical so I am listing this here "as is". maybe you can fix it or use it for parts. It is blue, comes with original box, instructions, software/cd , battery and battery charger, cable. I can say this was a great camera, it holds charge for a long time. I had to take the pictures for this listing with my laptop so pictures are not great. the numbers under upc bar: 0 13803 14638 7. 16.0 megapixels 28mm/8x 3.0 LCD again, I am not technical so I probably can't answer any questions other than what is listed on box. free shipping with tracking.
-per Listia rules I have 7 days to contact you/ship item. I will post tracking as soon as I ship. has wrist strap already attached.
*just stating again, it will turn on, comes with everything in original box, it just won't take pictures. it turns off because the error message is for lens cover, it will not close completely. lens, screen, etc are all in great condition. no scratches or rough handling. you can see in pictures, the cover on lens is not completely closed. it was off in picture posted.

*****this camera does not use regular batteries. it has small, square battery pack that you remove to charge. the charger plugs into standard home outlet.

I have not added GIN to item. If you are interested in GIN you will have to ask before any bids are placed.

Unfortunately, that's an all to common problem with these. the first three I had all has the same problem, but after being dropped while the lens was out. Great camera when working properly, I love mine, yes, I like them so much I got a fourth one. Being very careful with it.

I just loved it. It was so easy to use. I don't like anything to complicated. I just take pictures of my dog or auction items and then put it back away. All I did was push the power button to turn it off and the lens wouldn't close all the way. I turned it back on and got the error message. I tried to read all the trouble shooting articles online but the few I tried I still get same message. I should have bought warranty I suppose. I didn't know if it was a "canon" issue or all digital cameras. I was still using my old 35mm before I upgraded to this one so I don't have anything to compare it to. next one I will keep receipt and add warranty. it seemed such a waste to throw it away so I listed it here. thank you for viewing and you mention the first 3 you had were they Canon brand?

just did that from using? too bad you didn't have the extended warranty, that's got to be some flaw, not the use. I love them, set it on auto and it does it all, including going macro when shoot small things up close. When they're right, they're probably the best camera for everyday use I've ever seen. I have bigger, badder cameras with big lenses and all that, but this is the one I always use, because it's so easy and gives great results. If you get good with your lighting, it can really perform. You would not believe what this little camera can do if you work lighting and angles and things. Plus, you can then do all kinds of things in various photo editing programs. Great cameras when they're right. I actually got the one I'm using now off Listia, and sold the broken ones on Ebay.
