Great Belgium 1943 Zinc 25 Centime Coin. Belgium was occupied by Germany during most of World War Two and this coin was made during that time! It was minted by the Germans! There were two varieties produced, Belgie-Belgique lettering and Belgique-Belgie lettering variety. This one is the Belgie-Belhique variety. The crown represents King Leopold III of Belgium (1934-1951) although Hitler was the head of occupied territory at the time. Because other metals were needed for the war effort Zinc was chosen for this coin type. Great collectible coin, especially considering the country was occupied at the time, great gift or investment too!
