The listing, Antique hat pin * Free * has ended.

I think that it's made of rose gold ( not sure ) it has been put away for more than 60 yrs. I was told that it is from the 30's or 40's at any rate it would make a fine addition to anyone's collection !!! Thank you for reading, all Listia rules apply etc.

This is just beautiful, I collect cameos, and for some unknown reason I got some hatpins I fell in love with too! So now I collect cameo hatpins! F&W! Thanks for putting this up there!

They have one similar to this at a pawn shop for $199 but it was for sure gold!! So if it is gold its worth a bit of money!!

I believe the cameo piece is actually a mid-19th century single earring that was converted to a hatpin. It looks like hardstone, and the style is more 1850s-1870s. Many heirloom pieces like this were held onto and converted into more useful and modern pieces, like hatpins, which came into vogue more into the 1900s-1930s. It is likely solid rose gold, probably 10K, with a hardstone (agate) cameo, and pin attached to top of broken earring wire.
