Seed donor Joe Cavanaugh obtained this variety in the mid-1990s from Kalman Lajvort of New Jersey. Kalman's father grew the pepper in Hungary and Kalman brought seeds of it with him when he immigrated to the United States.
Capsicum annuum ∙ Red tomato-shaped fruit are flattened and highly ribbed. Fruit 2-3" in diameter. Moderately sweet and flavorful with crisp thick flesh. Plants reach 2' tall and should be staked to prevent lodging.
