any idea how to get the sweetener out of the plant? i am diabetic and use stevia sweetener in place of sugar but t is very expensive so i have wanted to start growing my own.

It is in the leaves, you can eat the leaves in salads or dry the leaves and use a coffee grinder to make it into a powder. It is sweeter than sugar, about 20% more.

So you grow it every year from the seed? I have heard it is harder getting the seed to get going..but that is internet rumor, so I was curious

If you grow it indoors you can grow it all year and use what you need,
