Description

The listing, Howard Hughes TWA United Nations Cover + Bonus has ended.

In 1967, TWA began using the new Boeing 747 jets and to promote the new service between New York and Paris, TWA took a large shipment of mail for Europe from the United Nations on this maiden flight and letters got a special UN cancellation and a special first flight cancellation. On the back, is an arrival postmark with Paris Aviation noting the arrival of the first flight. TWA airlines, one of the world's first great airlines started by Howard Hughes no longer exists and this unique bit of postal/aviation history can be yours if you are the high bidder. The winner will receive a half a dozen transportation stamps as a free bonus and, if GIN is used, a special additional bonus of another aviation service flight cover too!!!
Questions & Comments
Original
TWA was the first to use the four engine Constellation in the 1950's, one of first to use the Boeing 707 and DC-8, and the first to expand big time into the then new jumbo jet Boeing 747. This very limited cover is a must for any aviation fan or aviation related stamp collector.
