In 1967, TWA began using the new Boeing 747 jets and to promote the new service between New York and Paris, TWA took a large shipment of mail for Europe from the United Nations on this maiden flight and letters got a special UN cancellation and a special first flight cancellation. On the back, is an arrival postmark with Paris Aviation noting the arrival of the first flight. TWA airlines, one of the world's first great airlines started by Howard Hughes no longer exists and this unique bit of postal/aviation history can be yours if you are the high bidder.
