Questions & Comments
Lovely little bag. This is unlined, correct? It was manufactured in May of '98, just a couple years after the Cahns' sold Coach to Sara Lee (and before demand exploded and they moved production overseas).
I love the fact that that someone else knows this. Unlined. I'm 60 years old and in the old days very few people knew what a coach purse was. The only thing about the old made in USA bags is the are heavy. But sign of a bag that will last forever. Thanks. I talk to much. :)
My first Coach was in 1997--a black leather carriage bag I bought at Saks because my boss had given me a $200 gift certificate. It also was unlined and was heavy, especially because of all the brass fittings. I sold it a few years ago at a garage sale for a pittance and regret that now. Within a year or two of that Coach's popularity exploded and they began to move into new colours, shapes and fabrics. Not a bad thing, but a turning point that many don't recognize as they think Coach had always followed these "rules" that are out there. Heck, I have a brand new Coach retail leather bag I bought at the outlet that had no numbers on the creed. They're on a tag inside the pocket. It still had tags on it and I have the receipts but if I were to list it here, I'm sure there would be at least one know-it-all who would say it was fake. See, you're not the only one who talks too much. Lol.
