Description

The listing, Kearsarge and Mt. Pleasant House Old Photos New Hampshire has ended.

The Kearsarge and Mt. Pleasant Houses Black and White Photo. Each photo is 2 x 3. Located in North Conway, New Hampshire. On yellowish paper with a thin white border around the picture. The detail in the photo is excellent. This came from an old album not sure of the date taken. I have other photos from New Hampshire this week.

Kearsarge House photo The Inn's namesake (the original Kearsarge House Hotel) began as a simple farm. Named for beautiful Mt. Kearsarge whose stately peak frames the village of North Conway, the original "farm" eventually became one of the most popular White Mountain hotels with accommodations for 300 guests.

Mt. Pleasant House Photo was built in 1875 by lumberman John T.G. Leavitt and opened the following year. It was then a simple, almost box-like structure with only forty rooms, but it would become of the largest and finest of the Grand Hotels.
