Here up for bids is a special treat that I happened to find at a sale a few weekends ago. I purcahsed 2 gold plated coins for Listia watchers. The other one is in a spearate auction. This here is a 24 karat gold plated George V British Bronze Penny minted in the year of 1921. This coin i would assume was NOT aoriginally issued in this form. It looks as if someone had it personally gold dipped maybe (I am not sure as to how that really goes being that I do NOT collect coins). There is also a small hole drilled into the top of the coin, so I would assume that someone had intended to place a jumpring through this and make a necklace of some sort from it. There is wear to the coin and some of the gold plating has worn off the surface of the coin.
