I'm not exactly sure what these are, but I used a bunch of them for necklaces. There are 14 pieces in total. See the pictures for sizes. Comes in an altoids tin.

can paint be added to give color?

I'm sure you could paint them. Spray paint for sure. I've covered them with resin attached a bail and made pendants.
