Sorry, I do not know how many ounces this holds. I tried to look it up on the Tupperware website but it is not listed there due to it being a limited time item. I would guess it to hold approx. 11/2 cups. Hope this helps.

Odd question but when it's shut if it's submerged under water will water get into the container?

Great question! I do not know. I have not tried but my best guess would be that this is not a water tight container.
