Tracey- totally agree- I went to Egypt a few years ago, and wow. Plus Im a teacher and when I came back to my student and all our "first world problem" it really opened my eyes. I can't imagine spending the money people spend--wait, I'm lying, because my addiction is perfume and I'm ashamed to say what I've spent. I like a nice purse because they hold up so in the long run you save money because they last so long but if I can get them here- oh yeah, Im all over it.

Victorialaws14- yes, they do- the Prada Astrale Saffiano has the plate on a triangle of leather and so does the Jute Frame Top Satchel , the Tessuto Nylon Shoulder Bag,the Gold Gaufre, the Talco Craquele tote (although it has the square tag) ALL of these have leather underneath. Who do you authenticate for?

To my knowledge it is, it was given to me by a very good friend and it's not big enough for me (I have a 2yr old, so I have a ton of stuff in my purse at all times, lol) So I figured I would post it on here. I of course don't want to ask her and have to explain WHY I want to know, if you know what I mean, lol
But I will say, she's not the type to buy a knock off. I checked for all the "signs" of an authentic Prada, and it passed. So...

But that's also why I am not asking alot for the GIN, because whether it's real or not, 29,999 (which I will only get 26,000 after Listia gets their 10% plus my fee's for listing etc) is a fair price either way. And if it is authentic, then it's a major bonus for the winner :)

It looks like the tessuto crossbody I have, really close- the only thing that would make me think twice is the actual front logo- it just looks rough and they are such crazy sticklers about having so much leather sticking out around the badge- but if its fake, its a pretty good fake. To be honest, I'm one of those people who think it's absolutely ridiculous that people would spend so much money (on a purse of all things) just because of the brand name. Especially if you have to go through soooo much to be able to tell if it's real or a knock off, WHY? Because we care too much about what people think about us. And it's not even people who are important in our lives, just people we pass on the street. Who cares what they think, you'll probably never see them again in your life! Not to mention, if I could afford to pay $300 for a purse, I would rather spend that money on helping someone who can't afford buy clothes for their kid or something like that. My hubby is from Zambia, Africa and ever since I have met Morris, it has opened my eye's to how spoiled we are in America (I am one of them) we throw away more food in a week then most people see in a month in 3rd world countries. It's sad. Ok, sorry I'm done ranting, I didn't mean to, it's just a touchy subject with me. LOL Thanks for watching my auction and I will go fan you right now :)

I sell handbags and authenticate Prada all the time - Prada never puts leather or anything under the metal plate logo on the front - it should be just the plate attached to the bag or wallet etc soo one easy way to tell real from replica is the tag/plate if it's not directly on the item it's not a real item. A lot of replicas have faux leather under the logo plate.

Rie60- As I was TRYING to say in response to your comment earlier. . I'm with you on the perfume thing, I seem to have "champagne taste, with a beer budget" lol the only perfume that I really love is Christian Dior Poison (the original one in the purple bottle) or Therry Mugler "Angel" both of which are about $75 for a small bottle. Needless to say, I have NOT bought either one since I have been married to Morris, because my conscience won't let me. Not when I think of how many kids I could buy shoes for with the cost of one bottle of something I can live without. I know it sounds extreme, but I wouldn't even be able to enjoy the smell of it when I put it on,lol
And how was Egypt? We plan on making a trip to Africa, hopefully in the next couple years. We just want to wait until Marley (my son) is old enough to remember it. Kinda stupid to spend that kind of money on a trip to Africa when he's only 2 and wouldn't remember any of it. But, when he's a little bit older, we want to go visit my hubby's sisters and neices and nephew's. His mom lives here in New York. Thanks again for your input on the Prada emblem. I looked EVERYWHERE online and NOWHERE does it say anything about not having leather behind the emblem. It says that there should be the name Prada on the metal hardware, and the inside lining should say Prada horizontally with 0000's in between and the background of the emblem should be the same color as the purse itself. But that was it. Like I said, that's why I'm not asking alot. :)

Yep, and I didn't see any tags inside. I did notice when I looked, that the seam inside was coming undone a little (possibly where a tag might have been) and I stitched it (I do alot of sewing so it's not noticeable) but like I mentioned in another comment, this was given to me by a friend. So for obvious reasons, I didn't want to ask her about it. She was just trying to help me out because our house burnt down back in April, and I lost alot of my purses and clothes (the worst part of the fire was my bedroom) Anyways, she gave me a bunch of purses and stuff and it's not big enough for all the stuff I carry with me (I have a 2yr old, so my purse ends up being a diaper bag half the time, lol) but I will definitely take a better picture of the name plate :)
