This auction is for 30+ French, Sparky Mixed Merigold Seeds. They are from my own plants this year. They are very easy to grow and with little care are a beautiful addition to your flower garden. I love them in the fall. They easily take the place of much higher priced Mums for fall color. We have a lot of hard clay in my area of Tennesse, These always do great in the poorest soil.
The seeds can be planted in the ground after your last frost. You can start them early, 4-6 weeks before planting in trays. Germination occurs at 70-75 degrees.They will germinate in 7-14 days.
They can tolorate dry soil, but prefer moist. Pull the blooms off the first few weeks to produce spreading. Then dead head for a blooming season until frost. Save your spent blooms . Open up on a paper towel or bag. Let dry, which usually takes a week to be absolute. Store in a paper envelope or paper bag in a cool dark place. I keep mine in a box in the garage. Seems to always work well. I start trays through out the growing season to have plenty to replace the summer flowers that have finished their blooming season. They are also good for pots and planters.
