How did it crack? Out of curiosity. And does it still play?

I used to work at blockbuster and saw this all the time. These hairline cracks often come from taking it out of the case, because it's secured too tightly. They usually work perfectly when like this (I haven't tested this one though); but can wear out over time once it's started, and if if gets worse it could crack the whole disc and of course it would then cease working. If one is careful with it, it should last many years with this crack. If treated poorly, I could see it getting worse in a few months.
