A beautiful shiny black gem. It is about 1 inch is size.Very smooth and it has a little weight to it. I have no idea what this is, any help appreciated.

it's hard to say just what a stone might be from so few pics, alone, but there are a limited number of things they can be. I would have said the stone was JET, right off the bat, but the semi-transparent look to several of the pictures has me leaning away from that ID. So, that leaves us with BLACK ONYX, OBSIDIAN, BLACK QUARTZ, or even, I suppose, possibly highly polished SHUNGITE, though I've never seen SHUNGITE with that degree of transparency. This is my special stone called Hemitatite...I can find it in the Dark, I know it that well...and it is a weighty stone. EXCELLENT for dispelling negativetivity.
