The Summit House Black and White Photo. Approximate size: 3 1/2 x 5 1/2. Located on Top of Mount Washington, New Hampshire. On yellowish paper with a thin white border around the picture. The detail in the photo is excellent. This came from an old album not sure of the date taken. I have other photos from New Hampshire this week.The first Summit House on Mt. Washington, when it opened in 1852, was 40’ long and 20’ feet wide. In 1853, a 20’ extension was added. After the addition, it could accommodate 60 guests overnight and the dining room could accommodate 150.
