The listing, Vintage Bronze? Brass? Deputy Sheriff Badge has ended.

Giving away a metal sheriff's badge. Not sure what type of metal. I am guessing Brass or Bronze. No monogramming on it.

It is very heavy and is metal. It is fairly substantial. I am thinking it is real, but I do not know for certain.

I can't post pics once there is a bid. This pin actuallly might me copper. There is some light scratches on the back that show copper. The pin on the back is shaped like a dome that goes with the curvature of the badge. It looks to be steel. Quite thick and heavy duty, much more so than on a reg brooch or pin. The backing/pin is vertical on the back of the badge.

From what I seen of the back of this, Looks like Copper. It has some Green in spots. Just saying could be worng be don't think so.

Yes copper over brass it would have been chrome plated its a toy out 40s from hopalong cassidy . Super nice!

Did you know that the reason cops were called coppers and later cops is because of the copper badges? That's where the name originates...my husband is an investigator. He likes unusual facts like that! lol
