'Superbo' comes from the group of plants known as the Genovese basils. 'Superbo' is a medium sized plant with compact growth. The sizeable, thick leaves are scented and downturn slightly at the edges. Keep the tops of the plant trimmed regularly to keep the foilage compact and to encourage leaf production.


Harvest basil leaves before the plant flowers. Young, top leaves offer maximum flavor, and these leaves are best used fresh. Older leaves are great for pesto and vinegar. If harvesting most of the plant, cut the main stem, leaving at least 3 pairs of leaves near the ground. Plant will re-grow and produce additional leaves.
