Confederate rose (Hibiscus mutabilis) is not a rose, as its common name suggests, but is actually a hibiscus. The plant is also known as cotton rose due to its buds, which resemble cotton bolls. Confederate rose grows in U.S. and blooms from summer through autumn, when it sports large white double blooms that turn pinkish-red after a few days.
