**JJ is the registered trade mark for the Jonette Jewelry Company, a family run jewelry business that made costume jewelry for 69 years.
They stopped production of all jewelry during WWII, but re opened as the Jonette Jewelry Company after the war.
In 1970, the started marking their pieces with the initials JJ, sometimes with a date and sometimes without.
In 1986, the sold their jewelry under the popular Artifacts mark.
In 2006, they sadly closed their doors after 69 years in the business....**
