Yes it should be it has been a while since I had the service and it has just been sitting here collecting dust.

ESN clean meaning when your husband switched companies did your contract end? Did you pay the early termination fee?

Yes, what 2mantu said. You cant have an outstanding bill on the contract, or the esn is locked and on one can use the phone. As far as this being used on prepaid, it would have to be Flashed to Boost, thats the only provider that is prepaid where its even remotely possible to flash to. And Blackberrys are notoriously difficult to flash, because even if you can get a successful flash, alot of the RIM Blackberry features dont work, or dont work right. You get phone calls an hour after they called, no BB messenger, etc etc. I would not recommend flashing this to Boost, but it is possible if your good and know what your doing. But i know what im doing and i cant do it, not every time anyways. I can do other phones though, just not Blackberrys. I know a person who can though.

O ya, and easy to way to tell its an 8530 and not some other mdel, is the 8530 is the newer blackberry model, and as far as i know, its the only one with the TRACKPAD on it, not the trackBALL. As you can clearly see in the picture, its a flat square black pad, not a round grey ball. Just a tip to give to the BB newbies.

Clarification: One of the 9000 series BB is exactly the same as the 8530, and thus also has a trackpad, but they're the same model, just some slight software differences.
