you know....I don't know. I don't think so. Its suppose to be extrememly easy. I'm not a computer guru either...and this is brand new. Got it in 2013 with a Spreebird deal online..it is an $80 value. got it for my daughter, then she said she didn't think she'd use it. I was going to return it but misplaced the receipt. Found it months later and its been on the closet shelf since. . The box says 'just plug into any ethernet connection at home, at the office or in a hotel for instant 802,11N wireless connectivity."....frankly, I don't even know what 'ethernet' is....lol ...I do facebook, email, listia, and ebay. Thats my knowledge of computers. good luck.

You just plug it into either the jack on the back of your router/modem, or plug it into a phone jack, as long as you already have internet, it would broadcast WiFi.
