Front of dvd rom bottom right you can see wires.. what color are they?
Also you can see sync button what color is it?

Thanks for the reply thomas, the sycn button being black is helpful. As is not seeing wires at all on the dvd rom. Since you did not see them that means it is a hitachi drive or we missed the right hole to look in. Anyways, you made me very interested :)

no problem. glad I could help. because u know what your talking about. I should let u know that I have taken the console apart to attempt to fix rrod, but was overwhelmed after seeing the guts, so I put it back together.

Wow. You really gotta have the patience of a sniper to deal with an X-box 360. Especially when it comes to the RROD. I speak from experience. But by sheer luck, mine was brought back to life by a barcode scanner at Wal-mart. Sold it to a friend not too much longer after that. Let him deal with the headache lol
