Questions & Comments
do you supply tracking numbers, and its against the rules to state that the winner is responsible if the post office loses or damages it, listia says its the sellers responsibility to ensure the package arrives undamaged
Really, I never knew that, could you please tell me where the information is exactly. I always refund the credits if the item doesn't arrive, but I am not going to guarantee the post office on anything, they have too many items to ship each day and too many accidents happen to stuff. I ship the cheapest method, come on these items on listia are garage sale items, they are not worth in most cases the high shipping costs. Sorry. As I said, I refund credits if the item gets lost, but the winner assumes the risk of disappointment of the item not arriving or being damaged. No one has complained of damage so far, I wrap really well in bubble wrap.
no wait..the seller has control over the USPS...I have had something arrived shredded...it was not the sellers fault, if they packaged it right, than the seller is not at fault...I sell on ebay, and always take pictures before I send something off...so if it arrives damaged, she does not get the credits...that is not fair, and in anyway I would not challenge that....not everything is the seller's fault...
ok. I look at this way, once I have sent the item, if the buyer does not receive it and does not let me know, it is their responsibility. I am not going to waste my money on tracking fees. I ship free and that is as good as it gets. If I am told the item has not arrived, I believe the buyer (some are not truthful, but really, nothing I put on listia is gold or diamonds, if a person is dishonest that is their problem), then I have no problem refunding the credits. I do have a problem with buyers and sellers who ignore emails and do not communicate. If you don't talk to me, how can I resolve an issue?
another way to protect yourself as a seller is to get confirmation/tracking numbers, that way you and the buyer can track the package as it is being delievered, then if the buyer claims it didnt show up,you have proof and 9 times out of 10 wont be obligated by listia to give a refund and then honest buyers will sense of security that you actually sent the package, tracking numbers cost 80cents and prevent buyers from saying they didnt recieve an item when they really did
true......most buyers are honest...a few give others a bad name...I had a seller want me to accept that I got it, before they sent it..so they can have the credits....a little flaky there.....
Now, it could be the seller really wanted the credits to buy something else, but you are right, you should not ask to be their personal credit agency. Pun intended.
