Description

The listing, VERY VERY OLD Antique Brush and Mirror Set has ended.

This auction is odd.

I found these two items in a very old house a long time ago. I cannot tell you if they are worth $50 or $5,000. The Mirror has to be hit with some chemicals because it has something on it. There are no physical defects though I tried to take enough pictures to show. I tried to clean it but since I didn't know its age I didn't want to ruin it.

Maybe it is something spectacular, maybe not. 2 things I know. They are OLD, and they are sturdy. I don't know what the symbols on them mean or if the backing is Ivory, tortoise shell, or plastic. I doubt it is plastic but again I do not know.

These items are auctioned as is. I will answer any questions I can about them but don't expect a lot because I just do not know. This looks like something from the 1800s to me. Who knows. They are SUPER heavy though I can tell you that. So Shipping is going to stink but I am a free shipper so bully for me.

Nate, is there any name anywhere on each or either piece?

Not that I saw love. I know they are REALLY REALLY old though. They belonged to the great grandma of an old man I was helping out at his house when I was young. Kept hold of it.

I apologize about the name thing. I looked again but back then even I think the World was so small that just the seal was enough. I remember some of the very first Tiffany & Co. was simply stamped or crested. This is my OPINION. All I can tell you is that they are gonna cost me at LEAST $10 to ship because of the weight. Jeesh they are heavy for some reason.

Why are you apologizing, there is no need for that, I can see that they are extremely old, my Grandmother, and Great Grandmother had sets like this, maybe not these exact one, but nonetheless like these.! I personally wouldn't know where to even begin to begin to find out anything about these. And I made no mention about how much it was going to cost you, as I read that in the action. And your right back then the makers seal was enough, but I really don't know anyone who would be alive today that might know!!

Seft1 I was just trying to draw comparison to the issue of the fact that these items weigh much more than your (these days ) type items and the only way I knew a way to explain it was to use shipping cost dollar figures which you are very astute in dealing with. I never said or meant to imply that you mentioned anything about money.
