Description

The listing, 1918 WW 1 United States Army Trench Knife (You really need to see this to believe it) has ended.

This knife was my Fathers knife. He fought in Vietnam and I know he came back with this. I cannot tell you if he USED it there, had it before he left, got it during, or any other particulars.

I CAN tell you that this knife is razor sharp and built like a tank. You could blast it with a shotgun and I believe it would be fine.

Unlike my last Knife auction for the KA-BAR, I hope not to alienate anyone by saying this knife's quality is superior but back then in 1918 during World War 1 (Or The Great War) they knew how to put something together. I had started to clean it to bring it back to its original state but I do not trust myself enough to be delicate and not damage it so I did the best I could. This item has History. It has heart. It has the soul of our very Nation folded within its steel.

My Father died 5 years ago and the only reason I am auctioning this knife is so that one of you can have a chance at holding the heart of our Nation in your hands.

I will answer any questions I can or take more pictures if you require. I apologize in advance but this auction will not be cheap.

This is NOT a replica. Do NOT say it is please. You should have seen it before I went at it with a dremil and polish

Yeah, that guy has some serious issues. And yes I mean to offend him. There is absolutely no reason to not include the fact that you are sending an item without a power cord and memory card (combo of over $30). That is a slightly large thing to omit. I don't care if what you sell is junk, just be honest about it. Honesty is all I require.

I do not have a replica, but this thing is so heavy it is almost unbelievable. Plus the blade I would imagine you would have to drive over to bend.

I know the price is high, but I swear it is worth it. Not only is it History, it is part of 2 wars. It was used in ww1 and Vietnam. Inbox me if you would like to talk seriously.

I found this online
The Mark I trench knife was an Americantrench knife designed by officers of theAmerican Expeditionary Force (AEF) for use in World War I. It had a 6.75 in (17.1 cm) double edged dagger blade useful for both thrusting and slashing strokes, unlike previous U.S. trench knives such as the M1917 and M1918. The handle is made ofcast bronze and uses a conical steel nut to hold the blade in place.[1] The Mark I's blade was blued with a black oxide finish, the bronze handle was chemically blackened, with cast spikes on the bow of each knuckle. The spikes were intended to prevent an opponent from grabbing the knife hand, as well as to provide a more concentrated striking surface when employed in hand-to-hand combat.
