Thanks russ. I will try more in the future it's hard to part with books sometimes. You will laugh im chasing to make a set of simpsons comics. None of the simpsons books are heavy in price. But they are hard to find most stores stock 2 copies to sell out and earlier numbers are scarce. They are a good read always funny.

WOW! What wonderfull raves you got on here Dave. Even though I am not a comic collector, I can appreciate where you are coming from. You are quite a guy to let something like this go like that. I can see how the people are really excited over it and it is a shame that Listia didn't make it a featured auction. They certainly should have. I am sure that the person who wins this is going to be an extremely happy person. I am fanning you just because you seem to be such a well respected guy here and I find that very honorable, so GOOD FOR YOU and good luck on your auction!

Thank you for your comment. For me i read comics the add value a book is worth is a bonus. I been a avid reader since i was 9. Marvel and D.C went i got old i started looking at the value of books. My first big book i got was xmen 10 1st juggernaut in bad condition but still worth money. That was the beginning for me looking for key books. Cost me a pretty pennies over the years.

When i got this graded i look at the book close thought i would score a 9.6-9.8. I was mad when i got a 9.2. It was a personal copy from my collection. I thought selling it on ebay. But ebay is alot of stress between bad buyer trying to scam you and shaded dealer i do not know what is worst. Anyway i got to catch myself before this rant start lol. With listia i know two things for sure it will go to a collector and no stress. So that make me happy. Good luck with your bid.

A funny story you will get a kick out of. Remember when marvel legends figures were commin out and selling out on store shelf. This was a great time for toys in general. Even with numbers that were being sold they weren't making enough for the demand. So toward the last set toy biz decided to sell the rights to hasbro. Hasbro had great ideas for legends let make them the size of gijoe figures we will meet the demand and make more profit. It's backfire of course collectors stop buying them and starting buying diamond select instead. But did this stop hasbro no they just flooded the market with toys making them uncollectable of course. Marketing at it best. But this also had a effect on the secondary market for marvel legends from toy biz prices are going up and continue to rise.

Hasbro has some of the best titles for toyline to date they have transformers, gijoe, starwars. At one point they were on top of there game. Transformer gen 1 figure were amazing, Star wars is always going to sell, gijoe has those cool weapons. But now look at hasbro. More then half of what they make is junk. Combining transformers with star wars making a robot. Are you serious lol. Let make 1700 star wars figures and see if you can collect them all lol. Or any of movie figures can seriously go somewhere lol. Maybe the bottom of the ocean with spongebob lol. Okay that was bad i know. I hate hasbro with a passion. Greedy company that doesn't about the collector just bad marketing.

Oops ranting again lol,

Hasbro went thru the hassles and costs of learning how to make great toys (like transformers), only to be sued for most of them because they were usually found unsafe later.. Nowadays, cool toys are still produced by Toybiz (owned by Marvel, aka Disney) and Mcfarlane toys, even Hasbro. Toys of today are safer for children, (Harder to swallow parts, and safe paints on the toys, less metal, etc) so just knowing that makes it okay with me , that toys aren't as cool as they can be- but they are safer.

Very good point about safety. With lawsuit being commonplace everyone has a lawyer for everything these days. I feel a simple rating system on the package itself can solve this problem. I believe they are doing that now but im not sure.

Dave Image Comics didn't exist yet when New Mutants 98 came out. "Comic Images" later renamed "Image Comics" was still a year away at this time, and Rob Liefeld was still doing New Mutants at the time, and it was one of Marvel's big titles at the time. Cable and Deadpool's 1st appearances within 11 issues of each other, Rob Liefeld was a pretty popular artist at the time. Todd McFarlane (the most popular Spider-Man artist at the time (who drew the book your selling), co-created the company with artists Rob Liefeld, Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri, Erik Larsen, Jim Valentino, Whilce Portacio, Robert Kirkman. Todd McFarlane saved Spawn and Violater and other major characters from becoming Marvel super-heroes (or villians). He not only drew this issue but he also created Venom, and didn't see any residual for him...I believe New Mutants 98 will be the next ASM 300 . Dave can you email me some more pics of this comic, the spine and the corners?

My amazing spiderman #50 i had to haggle the price down for got it from mile high comics at motor city comiccon i while back. He had 350 on it this this was a friday of course so i usually wait til sunday to do my buying anyway just for the obvious reason dealer are will to give deals on sunday. Anyways i knew he really wanted 300 easy to figure out and the book is worth that and more. But i wanted to pay 250 so i came back sunday and offer 200 the dealer got mad and walked away so i started to walk away he says 275 lol so i turn back around say let me see the book. Now im looking at the book it's clean. He says i know you want it. Then i offer 250 lol he says "come on are you serious lol." I pull the money and say "here you want it or not." He take it lol. He says to me i wanted 300 lol i said "i know." lol too funny to me.

My camera is a 7.2 mega pixels piece of junk lol. I need the invest in a new one. Trying to wait until black friday to do that.

new mutants #98 could be the as big as asm #300 but think that will be decided by how well the movie does and gets collectors to go and try and find the comic.Got to always remember price goes up when the comic is in more demand and when there are less copies you can find and more copies that are out there the lesser the value.

I traded a few 1950's Action Comics for the Avengers about 10 years ago. I got the 10 cent DC's at a yard sale so it was good all the way around for me. I just put my Avengers in my profile pic. I love any comic from the 1970's or older. I don't have nearly as many as I used to have. I don't have my Spiderman #50 any more but love the book. Classic cover.

Six more photo have been added to this auction. Honestly i feel that it should have a higher score from cgc. No creases staples are center nicely very nice copy as you can see in the better picture. I believe that cgc is more strict with the grades with books that have high guide value. Either way someone is going to be very happy.

Heck if i know i just like having credits just in case something good come up. I like listia reward auctions. Alot of good stuff. I have a few sellers i check on who post good stuff. I hoping someone post a ipod nano or classic that works too. Lord know i won't buy one. For sure a good digital camera. In fact if someone has one up for listia send me a message i'll bid to win.

My friend laugh at me for borrow his camera the other day to take pictures for listia. He says "you have money go buy one lol." I say screw that noise best buy doesn't get my money until black friday lol. It's weird ill drop big money on books but when it's come to something i acually need im cheap and wait for the sales lol. It's too funny this is why giving this book up surpises me because i would toss this in a box in watch to price grow. But i like listia so much this doesn't bother me all at. And if i flat out sold it on ebay i will say i should have waited longer. But giving it away to someone on listia is more like giving it to a friend. This is very random to me but it make sense for some weird reason,.

And he one of those guys who buy everthing the day of. Then brag about it i laugh at him because i do the opposite. I'll wait until it's on sale or i cannot use the older version no more. I mess with him and invite over just to let him talk trash. He like why do you still vcr lol im like what in world is a dvr sounds like a toaster lol. He show me his kindle i show him my book collection. We are best friends. Random story for no good reason. What the heck im i doing.

You have a avengers #4.....Wow that's amazing i been trying to get that for a while. I almost came close to buying it for 2500 great shape but i let it go because that was all my money for that show to buy stuff. I still kicking myself. What the condition of the book did you get it graded. How did you get it was it pass down from a family member did you buy it from a dealer. My prize book that i have is amazing spiderman #50 1st kingpin i do not think i will ever sell that book it's in great condition 7.5 or better. I might get it CGC but i hate taking it out the mylar it's in.
