This is a truly rare item here in the West. The Shiva's Eye is actually Calcium Carbonate Shell that is formed as the 'front door', so to speak, of the Turban Snail’s shell which is found in the shallow tropical waters of Thailand and Indonesia. The 'Eye' disconnects from the snail shell in it's latter age, and falls to the ocean floor where it is subject to normal tidal movement and polishing by the ocean bottom sands. Although each spiral is similar in pattern, as with all organic gemstones, each one will vary slightly. They are considered to be a natural gemstone, and are used as such, just as we use mother of pearl and all the jaspers and other stones that originated as organic materials. FANTASTIC AUCTION!!
