7 sticks of purple, blue, gray and red hair chalk, never used. Each stick is about 2.5" long. Originally purchased as a set of 8, but I use only one of these colors and don't need the rest.

Hi there, is there a trick to using these? How do you get the chalk to dye your hair?

It's actually pretty easy - you can google and find detailed instructions online. Usually it's recommended to apply it to clean hair (wet or dry) and seal the color with a heated styling tool for longer lasting effect, and to keep it from staining linens and clothes. I've used this chalk on dry hair without any styling aids, and it lasted several days between shampoos.

These are made specifically for hair but I think you can also use them as art supplies. I've done that before with other brands.
