This is a AGP video card. Pretty nice one too, comes with all factory packaging, driver disc, box and anti-static bag. Think the description says it all: model number and all. Check the pictures too. I'll go ahead and answer the big one: it works. I only took it out because I upgraded!

checked the spec's on your dell and its a nogo yours a 32bit cpu

@fortunate1: I hope you're still watching this because you can use this card. I don't know what that other guy is talking about but this card will fit in your computer. Your PC has an AGP slot according to the spec sheet I looked at on the "Dell™ Dimension™ 8300 Series" desktop. -cligg-
