Questions & Comments
I know it isn't easy getting started with all the picky little details, yet I find it far less complicated than eBay, for example. As for the free shipping . . . I think it's difficult to make a statement that covers all circumstances and all types of items. I usually try to offer free shipping if the shipping cost is fairly low & if I don't offer free shipping, I try to offer things that are worth a lot more than the shipping costs! Sometimes people are okay with the shipping then - but you cannot please everyone.
I thought you'd be able to tell me the cost because I thought this weighs less than 13 oz & could go 1st class & that covers all zip codes. But the highest cost for 1st class is only $4.12 & you're asking $6.73, which doesn't make sense to me. If this weighs more than 13 oz, you'd have to send it either Parcel Select or Priority Mail & you'd need to know my zip code to determine the cost from your zip code to mine. So, what does it weigh? Also, my zip code is 18036. Can you tell me what the shipping cost will be - or just give me the weight & I can look it up at the p.o. website. Thanks.
Priority Mail is a flat rate, regardless of zip code. It weighs less than 13 oz (about 8 oz). I did look it up on USPS before I posted, but I was on my phone and apparently had limited options.
It looks like it'd be $3.22 to your zip with first class. Sorry for the bad information the first time. I'm not looking to make money on shipping, I just didn't realize there were other options based on what I was looking at earlier.
Thanks. BTW, Priority Mail is only flat rate IF you use the p.o.'s flat rate boxes. I didn't think you were trying to make money on shipping, only that you just didn't know at the ins & outs of the p.o. pricing system (who could?). I see you are new to Listia . . . so welcome! It's not always like this . . . most of us are not trying to be difficult! Thanks so much.
Lol. Thanks for the heads up. Several people have actually been advising me about what I need to do, so I'm learning quite a bit. I wish I could afford to always offer free shipping, but I can't. It almost seems like by the time you pay shipping for some of these things, it's not even worth getting it for free!
