Doing a search on "silver issue 2gr dated 1776" brings up several clues. I've had this for several years, and believe I received this in the mail and I received this new. From my search that number below is not a serial number as the info online and the description of this coin others also have the same number below as this one.

The date of the token is from around 1990 from the info I'm gathering online. Like I've said, I've had it for several years and 1990ish sounds about right to me... hth
