aka ‘Violet of Sicily’ aka ‘Di Sicilia Violetto’Authentic original Sicilian purple headed cauliflower that is not as bright of a neon purple in color as the hybrids - it has a more natural color of deep purple.
Many believe it has better flavor than the hybrids, and it has a reputation for rugged growth.
A wonderful open-pollinated (as in 'Heirloom'!) variety,
it is a tasty and colorful (raw) addition to vegetable platters. It is likely, however, to lose its color when cooked.
