Description

The listing, Amber Colored Swan Salt Dip has ended.

Well folks this is a trial! I have many salt dips available but I was not sure if anyone here on listia would want them so I am posting two different ones right now and if the auctions go great I will post the rest.

The salt dips in my collection were my mothers. She passed away a few years ago and I need a crib more than I need antiques in my home.

This salt dip is very cute, I was tempted to keep it but I am hoping someone else will want it more. It is amber colored glass in the shape of a swan. Could be used for many purposes I am sure.

I am going to borrow an explanation another listia member gave to another on my other salt dip auction,

They are very tiny bowls or shapes similar to bowls that held salt at one time. They are referred to as salts, salt cellars, salt bowls, salt dips. They are usually less than 2-3 inches across and were used with miniature spoons. This was how salt was served prior to the invention of the shaker. They were made in numerous shapes and varieties. Hope this helps.
