Popularly called "Living Stones", Lithops are some of the world's most fascinating plants. Lithops have been avidly sought by the collector of succulent plants. Resembling the pebbles and stones among which they grow in their African habitat, they have become favorites of the collector of strange and unusual plants.
Lithops thrive best in a coarse, well-drained substrate. Any soil that retains too much water will cause the plants to burst their skins as they over-expand. Plants grown in strong light will develop hard strongly coloured skins which are resistant to damage and rot, although persistent overwatering will still be fatal.

The plant in the photos is the one you will receive. It has just finished shedding its old leaves, leaving the new set that you see.
