How large do the hips get? Some I've seen are 1/4", others get up to 1.5" in diameter.

They can grow to this size. I pruned the tops of mine over the years. They grow very quickly and have to be maintained. One of mine is like 10 ft tall and 6 ft across. I have to pick the hips before the birds get them. They are edible. Thank you!
