This is a painfully, criminally underrated masterwork from one of music's best. Carly can set anything to music, even old letters, which is what she did with this album. Where to start? Thouched By The Sun is, in short, amazing! It's one of Carly's most thought provoking and powerful songs. Like A River is beautiful, and given the subject-matter, painfully sad, yet uplifting. Carly deals with the loss of her mother through words and thoughts that make you wonder and feel uplifted, if you yourself have ever lost a mother, or even another family member. Another favorite of mine is Born To Break My Heart, which you can perceive in your own terms, as I don't even fully understand it. The Reason is a fun song, a lighter moment on the album. Halfway 'Round The World is a fun one too! Davy is a beautiful song, and Carly sounds amazing on it. The songs range on different themes, and may touch on many different subjects, but this plays like a concept album. Carly's die-hard and true fan's may already have this album, but if your just starting and only want a handful of her albums, make room for this overlooked record. It's one of her best!
