The listing, 1800's Trash Pit Finds; Bone Toothbrush and more has ended.
Dug these myself next to a river and mill site here in Connecticut. The toothbrush easily dates to the Civil War period or earlier. There is a makers mark meticulously carved into it. Imperial Crown London. It is broken at the neck but with a bit of the right glue and patience could be mended. The head of the toothbrush once had boar or horse hair set into it. The clay pipe likely dates to the later half of the 1800's. It bears a Scotland stamp and a raised T. D. There's also some type of utensil (a fork perhaps) too far gone, but I thought it was neat to save it because of its bone handle. These are authentic 19th century artifacts found by myself.
