Did DST finally get released on steam or is it the pre alpha version

The copy on my library says its the beta but its just as playable as the base game, you can buy it on steam and it works pretty much like TF2 servers except you can make your own and you don't need to use logmein to play with only certain friends. However, if you already have the base game don't starve i wouldn't recommend bidding unless you are gifting to a friend because you will get DST when the full game is finished anyways.
